When you freeze panes, Microsoft Excel keeps specific rows or columns visible when you scroll in the worksheet. For example, if the first row in your spreadsheet contains headers, you might freeze that row to make sure that the column headers remain visible as you scroll down in your spreadsheet.
Step 1:
Click on VIEW in top navigation Bar. Then Click on Freeze Panes. There you have 3 options:
a. Freeze Top Row
b. Freeze First Colum
c. Freeze Panes
Freeze Top row is to freeze the top row of the spreadsheet.
Freeze First Column is to freeze the first column of the spreadsheet.
Step 2:
Select the above option to freeze the panes. See the image below to see the results.
Step 3:
To unfreeze panes, repeat the above steps. You just need the click on Unfreeze Panes.
