Customize your Windows Terminal in three different ways.

Windows Terminal is a multi-tabbed terminal emulator that Microsoft has developed for Windows 10 and later as a replacement for Windows Console. It can run any command-line app, including all Windows terminal emulators, in a separate tab.

Here we have three ways to tailor the Terminal to your preference:

  1. Recolor the Windows Terminal Tab,

  2. Rename the Windows Terminal Tab, and

  3. Background Image.


1. Recolor the Window Terminal Tab

In Windows Terminal as standard you can choose any of the following themes:

  • Campbell

  • Campbell Powershell

  • Vintage

  • One Half Dark

  • One Half Light

  • Tango Dark

  • Tango Light

  • Solarized Dark

  • Solarized Light



Step 1: Go to the Windows Terminal and From the dropdown, Select the Settings.


Step 2: Go to the Color Scheme. There are some of the Standard theme which you can select and also you can choose colors of your own choice.


Step 3: See the image below and enter the RGB Number for the particular color.




Step 4: After selecting the colors, Click on Save.


This is what it will look like.



 

2. Rename the Windows Terminal Tab

It is very easy to Rename the Tag. This option will change your tab title into a text field, where you can then edit the title.


Step 1: Right Click on the Windows Terminal Tab.


Step 2: Select "Rename the Tag" .



 

3. Background Image in Windows Terminal


Step 1: Go to the Windows Terminal Setting. Select the Command Prompt or any option (Default, Command Powershell or Azure Cloud Shell).


Step 2: You can Browse the File Location or else you can use your desktop image also.

As i have selected our Logo "The Tech Platform".


Step 3: To make it properly fit, you can also choose the Alignment, Image Stretch Mode and also Opacity.


Step 4: After doing the setting, Click on Save.
