Waterfox vs Firefox: What's the difference

Waterfox:

Waterfox is an open-source web browser for x64, ARM64, and PPC64LE systems. It is intended to be ethical and (in Waterfox Classic) maintain support for legacy extensions dropped by Firefox, from which it is forked. There are official releases for Windows (including a portable version), Mac OS, Linux and Android in two versions: Classic and Current. It is also known for allowing to install web browser extensions from Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and Opera.

Waterfox is based on Firefox (and uses Firefox's engine) and is compiled using various compilers and using Intel's Math Kernel Library, Streaming SIMD Extensions 3 and Advanced Vector Extensions.

Firefox:

Mozilla Firefox is a Web Bowser, with which one can access the internet. Mozilla Firefox was developed by Mozilla Foundation in 2002 under the Phoenix community. Mozilla Firefox is known for its speed. Though the Firefox browser needs a lot of memory for operating efficiently. It may limit the multiple tasking of computers. However, It provides better network security. It has advanced security options that protect your system from spyware and malwares. It has strong popup broker and authentication protocols which makes it safe from potential attackers using any unauthorized codes. Further to enhance security users can use enhanced security options like NoScript and Flashblock. It enables user to execute advanced code so that certain new features which can make the browser more Intutive.

Advantages:

  1. Speed: Fastest browser when it comes to download speed. Users can get records of all their download in form of table so that they can easily move and delete.

  2. Security: Helps computer from spyware and viruses. It also have state -of-art popup blocker that stops almost 100% popups.

  3. Tabbed browsing: Tabbed browsing allows the user to open an unlimited number of pages in a single window, thus helping to organize browsing.

  4. Firefox have embedded memory, which means if the computer is turned off by mistake, the browser will remember which sites were open and offer to restore the previous session.

Disadvantages:

  1. Compatibility issues: Some websites do not show properly in this browser and require the user to view them with IE

  2. Memory: Takes lots of memory to run. and also uses more CPU. The Software tends to freeze and close when too many tabs are open simultaneously.

  3. Interrupted Service : Download cannot be resumed if they are interrupted.
